Catching up and a visit to Texas!

Wow, we have been busy! Lots going on with Clayton starting preschool and travels to Texas. Before we left, Clayton and I went to a "Curious George" party at the local bookstore The Reading Reptile in Brookside. We had a great time and even got to meet George! Clayton made a marshmallow/banana kabob, a Curious George necklace, and even got a George tattoo.
A week later, we traveled to Texas to see family. Since we won't be home for the holidays this year, we made our rounds for a fall celebration. Sam had 2 more birthday celebrations with family in Texas. We had a great time visiting with friends & family.

New & Funny Happenings:
- Sam's stats from his 1 year checkup on 9/22
* 19lbs, 10oz (10th %ile)
* 30" long (60th %ile)
* 19" head circumference (97th %ile)
- When I dropped Clayton at preschool he told me "you don't need to hold my hand mommy, I'm a big boy now" (9/23)
- Sam is much more interactive now - he shares toys, hands us things and smiles (9/26)
- Asked Clayton what he was thankful for (each night) and he went through his list then at the end said "I am not thankful for school because I miss you" (9/28)
- Clayton likes to "save it for later" with snacks and drinks (9/29)
- Sam looked right at Nana and said "NA-NA!" (10/2)
- Clayton went fishing for the first time while we were in Texas. Pops took us to a little spot in Kingwood. Clayton seems serious in the photo but his attention span was about 5 minutes, then he wanted to go play on the playground just up the ramp :)
- Sam got his first haircut - thanks Nana! (10/9)
- Sam is walking across the room on his own now (10/11). Though he sometimes still gets lazy and drops to "crawl with authority"
- Sam continues to try lots of new foods. He is getting a little pickier but we are trying to push through and continue to introduce the same foods over and over again so we don't end up with another picky eater ;)
- Pops (Ramsey) told Clayton we were going to have a birthday celebration with cake for Sam & Gigi and he said "I know - I've been thinking about it ALL day!" (10/15)
