Happy 1st Birthday Samuel!!

Hard to believe our baby is turning the big #1 today! Well, actually, I think it seems like a LOT longer than 1 year - ha! :) However, we have enjoyed each (okay, most) moment with him. He is a sweet baby with lots of personality! This past weekend, we celebrated his birthday with an elephant theme. We enjoyed cake and appetizers with close friends on Sunday afternoon.
Other fun things that are happening - Clayton started preschool! He is loving it but tells me he misses me when he is there - awww! :) We also visited the zoo last week with friends, the animals were quite active so we have photos of that below!

New & Funny Happenings:
* Clayton started preschool - he is loving it. Each time I have picked him up he says "I had fun - but I missed you mommy!" <3
* Sam loves to dig in the diaper bag - he is looking for food! (crackers specifically!) :) and anytime it is within his reach he will find it!
* Clayton pretends to "fish" off the front porch
* Clayton can now get himself started on the swing with no help! He gets going and can swing really high! (9/15)
* 9/17 - Sam is taking more steps, though he still prefers to crawl
* 9/17 - Sam, Clayton, and friends visited the Kansas City Zoo to see the new polar bear exhibit, as well as many other animals that day (elephant, giraffe, zebra, tortoise, even a bonus we found hanging out on the trash can - a praying mantis)
* Sam loves gluten-free breadsticks with marinara (especially from Waldo Pizza!) & bacon seems to be a favorite too :)
* Sam is still loving every kind of food he has tried, though he has been cranky at meal time b/c he prefers his rice crackers (working on breaking him of this bad habit but I think they make his teeth feel better!)
* Sam is obsessed with shoes!
* When we say "eh-eh-eh" (as in he shouldn't be doing whatever he is doing) he will shake his head "no no" and give a big smirk
